Revolution Gone Wrong

As the chaos continues in Egypt it is hard to truly know what to think about the future of this country. As an American, I want everyone to share in the freedom that democracy brings. But if you are a fan of history, you know that all revolutions are not the same. It is easy to think of our great American Revolution where we broke the oppressive chains of Great Britain. The sad fact is that our revolution was one of the only successful revolutions in terms of a reign of freedom.

Today Mubarak relinquished power after decades of rule. While many Egyptians never found freedom during his reign, he has been a good ally to the United States as one of the only countries in the Middle East (yes, I know they are in Northern Africa) who have peace with Israel. Now, as I watch the news unfold, I see the radical Muslim Brotherhood telling the military they must immediately hand over power to them.

So a bigger question, who is the Muslim Brotherhood?

I spent the past week researching this group. It is hard to know what to believe when you listen to liberals in this country defend them as just another peaceful organization. Jim Clapper, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, called the Brotherhood a “largely secular organization”. When you read the Brotherhood’s website, you really get confused until you start digging deeper into the shit.

The biggest complaint is sharia law and how the Brotherhood embraces it. For those of you who don’t know what sharia law is, it is what makes Muslim’s so wonderful. It says basically that women are slaves and must comply with whatever men say and it is where the extreme laws such as cutting off the hands of thieves, even small children, comes from.

So I began to find out for myself about the Muslim Brotherhood because the Muslim loving media isn’t going to tell us.

When reading an article on the Muslim Brotherhood English website, I found them appealing to Americans. They were basically asking why we all fear them and that they just want democracy for Egypt like all Americans should. Then, in one of their articles, they began talking about sharia law. They said that, even if they take power in Egypt, sharia law is nothing to worry about. They say, “Sharia is a means whereby justice is implemented, life is nurtured, the common welfare is provided for, and liberty and property are safeguarded”. So why do all of us stupid Americans worry so much about sharia?

All I have to say is, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? Sharia is where life is nurtured? Sharia provides for common welfare? The only true statement in their bullshit website is that sharia is a means for justice. I guess when you chop the arm off of an eight year old boy, or in the video I saw, run his arm over with a truck, for stealing some bread, he has found his justice. But tell the woman who is raped and beaten by her husband, or the girls in our own country who were killed because they were becoming too “American”, that sharia nurtures life.

I have read all that I need just in their website to know that if these guys take over in Egypt, they are screwed forever and we have lost one of our only Muslim allies. Also, in the same article, that I will link to below, they say that “it is our position that any future government we may be a part of will respect all treaty obligations made in accordance with the interests of the Egyptian people.”

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, that means that their peace treaty with Israel will be torn up instantly because you better believe that they don’t consider any living Jew a good Jew. Which raises another question, why do American Jews support our Muslim loving liberals? I guess that hurts my head too much to get into today.

Finally, the fact that Obama didn’t tell us how disgusting the Brotherhood is is disgusting in itself. Way to go Barack. You just give me a new reason to like you every day.
